United Nations Global Compact

The Company signed the United Nations Global Compact in August 2023 to show its support. The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest sustainability initiative that seeks to build a sound global society through joint efforts between the United Nations and the private sector (companies and organizations). Signatory companies and organizations are required to continue their efforts to fulfill the Ten Principles which relate to the protection of human rights, elimination of unfair labor practices, environmental protection and anti-corruption based on the commitment of corporate leaders who support the principles.

TCFD Recommendations

The Yasuda Logistics Group identifies contributing to a low-carbon, recycling-oriented society as one of its material issues to be prioritized for the realization of a sustainable society and believes that it is essential to enhance information disclosure on initiatives related to climate change in order to build trust with stakeholders.

Based on these ideas, the Company expressed its support for the TCFD recommendations in June 2022 and discloses information on the impact of climate change on the Yasuda Logistics Group’s business activities based on the recommendations. We will continue to update the information we disclose information and strive to enhance its content.

CDP

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international initiative for promoting disclosure of corporate environmental information at the request of institutional investors and purchasing companies around the world.

The Company has been responding to the Climate Change Questionnaire since FY2022.

Yokohama City SDGs Certification System, Y-SDGs

In the eighth assessment conducted by Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture in cooperation with the Yokohama SDGs Design Center under the Yokohama City SDGs certification system Y-SDGs, the Company was certified as “Superior”, which is the higher certification category.

The Yokohama City SDGs Certification System, Y-SDGs, is a system in which Yokohama City certifies the efforts of companies and organizations in and outside Yokohama City toward achieving the SDGs. This system aims to encourage business operators to shift to sustainable management and operations and expand their new customers and business partners, and to encourage investors and financial institutions to utilize the system when making decisions on loans and investments, including ESG investments.

Eco-Ship Mark Certification System

In 2020, the Company was certified as an excellent business operator under the Eco-Ship Mark Certification System due to our use of maritime transport to move inventory from Kanagawa Prefecture to Fukuoka Prefecture contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

The Eco-Ship Mark Certification System was established in July 2008 by the Eco-ship Modal Shift Business Execution Committee, a group of shipping companies, with the cooperation of the Maritime Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, with the aim of supporting companies that contribute to measures to address climate change. The system certifies the use of the Eco-Ship Mark by shippers and logistics companies that use low environmental impact maritime transportation in a certain percentage of their operations.

Digital Transformation Certification System

On November 1, 2023, the Company was certified as a digital transformation certified business operator under the Digital Transformation Certification System established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The Digital Transformation Certification System is a system by which the Japanese government certifies companies that are recognized as complying with the basic principles of the Digital Governance Code and are deemed ready to promote digital transformation. The Digital Governance Code outlines the responses required from executives in light of social change driven by digital technologies, based on the Act on Facilitation of Information Processing.

White Logistics Promotion Campaign

The Company has submitted a voluntary declaration of action in support of the White Logistics Promotion Campaign proposed by three Japanese ministries, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The White Logistics Promotion Campaign is aimed at addressing the growing shortage of truck drivers, ensuring stable distribution of goods necessary for daily life and industrial activities, and contributing to economic growth. The Company will make an effort to improve the efficiency of logistics and the productivity of truck transportation by participating in the White Logistics Promotion Campaign.

Excellent Enterprise for Global Warming Countermeasure Efforts

The Company received an excellent enterprise from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in an assessment of efforts to reduce emissions, which was conducted under the global warming countermeasures reporting system introduced by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2023. The global warming countermeasures reporting system is a system for assessing and publicizing global warming countermeasure efforts of business facilities in Tokyo based on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s guidelines for global warming countermeasures.

Excellent Corporation for Health Management Certification Program

In December 2023, the Company received Gold Certification (No.174) from the Healthy Enterprise Declaration Tokyo Promotion Council as an Excellent Corporation for Health Management. The Excellent Corporation for Health Management Certification Program is a program under which companies are certified when declaring their company-wide commitment to health promotion and having achieved certain results.
