Moreover, the Yasuda Logistics Group’s Human Rights Policy is based on the United Nation’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Based on this policy, the Group will improve human rights initiatives as we develop businesses while contributing to the sustainability and prosperity of society.
Yasuda Logistics Group’s Human Rights Policy
Based on its management philosophy, realize prosperity and its aspirations through sound corporate activities in response to the expectations of customers, shareholders, employees, and their communities, the Yasuda Logistics Group aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through business activities that respect the human rights of all stakeholders.
The Yasuda Logistics Group’s Human Rights Policy (hereinafter, “this Policy”) is set as a guideline for our efforts to respect human rights, and was approved by the Company’s Board of Directors upon its establishment.
1. Scope of Application
This Policy applies to all officers and employees of the Yasuda Logistics Group*. We also expect our business partners to understand and support this Policy.
* “All officers and employees of the Yasuda Logistics Group” refers to all officers and employees including permanent employees, part-time employees, contract employees, part-timers, and temporary employees of Yasuda Logistics Corporation and its consolidated subsidiaries.
2. Efforts to Respect Human Rights
The Yasuda Logistics Group supports and respects the International Bill of Human Rights (the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenants on Human Rights) and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
In addition, we will promote efforts to respect human rights based on this Policy, which was established in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
In particular, we will prohibit all forms of harassment, discrimination, forced labor, and child labor, and strive to ensure the safety of the working environment. Also, we will be conscious that we may infringe the right to privacy, the safety, the right to know, and the freedom of residence and movement of local communities, and we will promote efforts to prevent such infringements.
3. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
The Yasuda Logistics Group will comply with all laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which it operates. In the event of any inconsistencies with internationally recognized human rights, we will seek ways to respect internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible
4. Implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence
The Yasuda Logistics Group will establish a mechanism for human rights due diligence and promote efforts to respect human rights. Through human rights due diligence, we will identify any adverse impacts of our business activities on human rights, and implement, evaluate, and disclose measures for preventing or mitigating such impacts.
5. Corrections and Remedies
If it becomes clear that the Yasuda Logistics Group has caused (or contributed to) adverse human rights impacts, we will endeavor to correct and remedy any such impacts through appropriate measures.
6. Dialogue with Stakeholders
The Yasuda Logistics Group will engage in dialogue and consultation on measures for potential and actual impacts on human rights with relevant stakeholders by utilizing external expertise.
7. Education
The Yasuda Logistics Group will provide appropriate education and capacity building for officers and employees to ensure that this Policy is incorporated in all business activities.
8. Information Disclosure
The Yasuda Logistics Group will disclose information about its efforts to respect human rights based on this Policy through its website and other means.
