Compliance Initiatives

To fulfill our social responsibility as a good corporate citizen and to gain the trust of our customers and other stakeholders, Yasuda Logistics is addressing compliance as an important management issue.

The Company has established an Employee Behavior Guidelines as a specific code of conduct for employees who support our compliance system in accordance with our Corporate Philosophy, Management Philosophy, and Charter of Corporate Behavior. Each employee adheres to the Employee Behavior Guidelines, strives to ensure compliance, and performs their duties sensibly and responsibly as a member of society.

Promotion System

A Compliance Committee, which is chaired by the President and CEO and oversees the Yasuda Logistics Group’s compliance system, meets once every six months. The Committee is striving to establish a more robust compliance system and oversee and manage compliance through efforts such as discussing and finalizing basic compliance policies and annual compliance plans, assessing compliance risks and discussing and finalizing a risk response plan, and discussing legal requirements and finalizing a response to such requirements. The results of the Committee’s deliberations are reported to the Board of Directors.

Initiatives

(1) Compliance training

To ensure that duties are performed in a socially sensible manner as well as in compliance with laws and regulations and the Company’s rules, the Company not only disseminates information on compliance, but also provides ongoing education and clarification through regular compliance training.

(2) Internal reporting system

The Yasuda Logistics Group has established an internal reporting system to promptly detect and rectify legal violations and misconduct. In addition to an internal reporting channel, we have also appointed a law firm to act as an external reporting channel. The reporting system is available to all employees of the Yasuda Logistics Group, including officers, employees, contract employees, temporary employees and part-time employees working for the Company as well as officers and employees working for group companies. In consideration of the reputation, trust, and privacy of people that use the reporting system, the Yasuda Logistics Group ensures their anonymity and prohibits disadvantageous treatment on the grounds of reporting.

(3) Workplace workshops

At Yasuda Logistics, each workplace decides a variety of topics and holds workplace workshops once a month in principle.
Workshops cover a wide range of topics. In an effort to increase, promote, and establish compliance awareness at each workplace, many workshops cover compliance issues, including compliance with laws and regulations and internal rules related to business operations.

(4) New employee training

At Yasuda Logistics, training is provided to employees shortly after joining the Company, where they learn about the concept of compliance, the Company’s philosophy and policies, and compliance management rules. We also invite outside lecturers to provide opportunities to learn about practical compliance and risk management strategies directly relevant to operations.
